"Why is it important to hire a contractor who is insured?"

If the contractor you choose does not have liability insurance the homeowner would be liable for any loss resulting from contractor negligence.

If the contractor does not have workman's compensation insurance the homeowner can be held responsible for medical bills and lost wages if an employee is injured while working at your home.

Peacock and Company is bonded in the counties in which we work and we are licensed in both Indiana and Michigan.

Peacock and Company carried various types of insurance to protect our clients from potential losses.
We carry:
  • General Liability Insurance that protects the homeowner from any damage that may result from the work we perform.
  • General Risk and Installation Insurance that covers materials that are on the job site prior to installation in case of theft or damage.
  • Workman's Compensation Insurance for our employees in the event of work related injury to cover the employee's medical bills and wages.

  • Always obtain a Certificate of Insurance from your contractor prior to any work being done at your house. Make sure that the date on the certificate is current and that it is signed by an agent. Verify that that general liability insurance and workman's compensation insurance is covered.
